The Quality Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the quality program supporting all Direct Wire operations, including manufacturing, assembly, distribution functions. Maintains relationships with Third Party certification providers (UL, CSA, MSHA, …) and is active in industry groups (Wire Association, Rubber Division of ACS…). Successful candidates must have strong analytical and, process control skills as well as the ability to communication effectively and build teamwork across all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Plans, coordinates, and directs quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards and plans for required growth to support future operations.
- Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to validate present standards, establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished product, and direct/evaluate continuous improvement efforts. Reports quality and efficiency trend data and recommends corrective actions.
- Represents Direct Wire in industry groups and committees to ensure Direct is engaged with emerging trends.
- Establishes and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. Maintain laboratory budget and all lab equipment. Maintain quality standards and training, including maintenance and control of company quality procedures and policies.
- Establish a Gauge R&R certification program and maintain records.
- Assists in on-the-job and equipment training.
- Maintain MRP/ERP System documentation relating to quality and inspection.
Requirements
- Two to four-year degree in a technical field required, or 3 – 5 years’ experience in quality management manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing setting creating a positive, professional, team environment.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with fellow employees, customers and vendors.
- Ability to understand and interpret complex written and oral instructions.
- Possess strong calculative and analytical skill sets.
- Proficient computer skills and MS office suite
