Job Overview
The Plant Scheduler manages production scheduling and all related functions, using all available scheduling tools and resources to utilize efficiently the plant’s resources to meet customer demand and company performance objectives. This position is also responsible for meeting working capital objectives, inventory management and shipping performance.
Duties
- Understand customer demand behavior and develop production plans to efficiently meet demand.
- Schedule machine time based on delivery schedule that meets customer demand and on time delivery.
- Manage production capacity constraints and alert necessary team members to issues.
- Work proactively with plant operations to maximize throughput and machine utilization (up time) while providing down time for scheduled PM’s.
- Review monthly sales forecast projections, participate in planning meetings and plant production meetings to remain aware of changes and ensure they are included in the planned production schedule.
- Maintain master production planning data to best utilize planning system
- Develop and optimize manufacturing work schedules.
- Manage plant finished goods inventory levels to ensure compliance with company inventory objectives.
- Provide ad hoc data analysis and reporting to the business as needed.
- Help to improve or establish the most effective planning software system.
- Responsible for reporting issues related to Food Packaging safety or quality. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Experience: 10 years transferable work related experience in production Scheduling or production planning in a manufacturing environment utilizing BOM’s, kits or routes.
- Career showing progressive Master Scheduling/Production planning experience and success in manufacturing companies with progressive and contemporary practices. Strong experience in scheduling to reduce costs.
- Computer experience, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer; experience with payroll and HRIS software programs preferred.
- Proven analytical, logical and abstract reasoning skills.
- Degree: Four-year Undergraduate Degree required in Logistics, Engineering, or Management Information Systems.
- APICS certification preferred.

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
