Position Overview
The ideal candidate will have experience in transactional tax matters and an interest in supporting sophisticated structured finance, securitization, derivatives, and private funds transactions. Prior experience specifically in structured finance or securitization is not required. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior tax attorney to work on complex, high-value transactions alongside attorneys across multiple practice areas.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on tax considerations arising in sophisticated financial and transactional matters.
- Support the firm's structured finance, securitization, derivatives, and private funds practices on transactional tax issues.
- Analyze federal and state tax implications of complex financial transactions and investment structures.
- Conduct legal research and provide practical guidance regarding applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Assist with the structuring and execution of transactions to achieve clients' tax and business objectives.
- Draft and review tax-related provisions in transaction documents and related agreements.
- Collaborate with attorneys across Tax, Finance, Structured Finance, Private Funds, and other transactional practices.
- Stay current on developments in tax law affecting financial transactions, funds, and other sophisticated business matters.
Qualifications
- Transactional tax experience required.
- Prior structured finance or securitization experience is not required.
- Law firm experience required; experience at a large or sophisticated law firm preferred.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Excellent analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Bar in the jurisdiction where the candidate will practice, or eligibility for prompt admission, required.
Compensation
The anticipated salary for this position is $235,000 annually, commensurate with experience and seniority.
