Direct Counsel is seeking a Renewable & Alternative Energy Tax Associate to join a national law firm in Washington, D.C. This is an outstanding opportunity for a mid-level to senior associate with strong tax experience, particularly in renewable energy tax credits, to become part of a dynamic practice with significant client exposure and growth potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise clients on federal income tax matters with a focus on renewable and alternative energy tax credits.
Provide sophisticated tax analysis and structuring advice for complex energy transactions.
Draft and review tax-related provisions in transaction documents.
Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and cross-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain a high level of client service while managing multiple priorities.
Qualifications:
3–6 years of federal income tax experience, including substantial work advising clients on energy tax credits.
Strong academic credentials with large regional, national, or international law firm experience preferred.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Compensation:
Base salary range: $260,000 – $390,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
