Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Transactional Associate Attorney to join a growing New Jersey-focused commercial real estate team in Parsippany, NJ.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 5 years of commercial real estate transactional experience to handle complex acquisitions, dispositions, financings, equity investments, and leasing matters.

Position Overview
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 5 years of commercial real estate transactional experience
- Substantial experience in structuring and closing complex commercial real estate deals, including mortgage and mezzanine financings, acquisitions, dispositions, equity investments, and leases
- Knowledge of federal and state environmental law and environmental due diligence for real estate transactions (preferred)
- Strong written, verbal, analytical, and client-facing skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team
- NJ bar admission in good standing (required)
The firm offers a hybrid work environment allowing attorneys to work remotely two days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions
- Conduct and review due diligence for acquisitions and dispositions
- Draft, negotiate, and review purchase agreements, leases, financing documents, and equity investment agreements
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex real estate and real estate finance matters
- Support environmental due diligence and compliance when applicable
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Minimum 5 years of commercial real estate experience
- Strong drafting, problem-solving, and client service skills
- Self-motivated, driven, and collaborative
- NJ bar admission required

Anticipated base salary: $200,000–$240,000, contingent on experience, skills, and other factors.
