Location: Florham Park, New Jersey
Direct Counsel is seeking a mid-level Real Estate Associate to join the transactional Real Estate practice group of a highly respected Am Law firm in its Florham Park office. This is an excellent opportunity for an associate looking to work on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions within a collaborative and nationally recognized practice.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience handling complex commercial real estate matters, exceptional drafting skills, and the ability to manage transactions in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle a broad range of commercial real estate transactions across the country
- Draft and negotiate:
- Contracts of sale
- Commercial lease agreements
- Financing documents
- Ancillary real estate transaction documents
- Assist clients with acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing matters
- Conduct due diligence and transactional analysis
- Coordinate with lenders, opposing counsel, consultants, and internal teams throughout transactions
- Support transactions involving land use approvals and related contingencies
- Manage transaction timelines and assist with closings
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- 3–6 years of commercial real estate experience
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial real estate agreements required
- Strong background in acquisitions, leasing, and financing transactions
- Experience involving land use approvals and contingencies is a plus
- Excellent writing, analytical, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Anticipated salary range: $225,000 – $280,000, depending on experience and qualifications
