Direct Counsel represents a well-regarded Am Law firm seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Albany office. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-profile matters at the intersection of litigation and public policy.
You’ll gain hands-on experience representing clients across industries in complex disputes involving government agencies, regulatory issues, and constitutional matters—including First Amendment work.
What You’ll Do:
- Handle complex litigation matters from early case development through resolution
- Draft briefs, motions, and legal memoranda
- Conduct legal research and factual investigations
- Manage discovery, including document review and strategy
- Take and defend depositions and appear in state and federal court
- Work on matters involving healthcare, environmental, energy, government procurement, insurance, and more
What We’re Looking For:
- 2–5 years of litigation experience
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Experience with motions practice, discovery, and depositions preferred
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
- Federal clerkship is a plus
- Active New York Bar admission required
