Direct Counsel has partnered with a premier law firm to hire a Legal Recruiting & Professional Development Coordinator. This role works closely with the Director of Attorney Recruitment & Professional Development to support the firm’s efforts to attract, hire, and develop top legal and administrative talent.The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of the legal industry, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to implement effective recruiting and professional development strategies tailored to the competitive California legal market. This position plays a key part in promoting a firm culture that supports the attraction, retention, and growth of exceptional legal professionals.Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitingPartner with the Director to implement recruiting strategies and maintain recruiting recordsSchedule and coordinate applicant interviewsManage due diligence for attorney hires and ensure timely completion of conflict checksCoordinate with Human Resources on background and reference checks for new hiresSupport new attorney hires during orientation and integrationAssist with firmwide recruiting projects and attorney hiring initiativesMaintain and update tracking documents for attorney statistics and recruiting dataProfessional DevelopmentAssist in creating and implementing attorney development initiatives, training, and mentoring programsSupport inclusion and equity communications, events, and programmingCoordinate calendars for meetings, trainings, and professional development eventsProvide support on professional development projects as assigned by the DirectorMaintain candidate profiles, manage recruiting databases, coordinate interview schedules, and compile feedbackGenerate reports on recruiting efforts and assist with administrative and strategic projectsAdditional Administrative SupportProvide administrative support to internal departments including Administration, HR, and MarketingMaintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged informationEnsure consistent on-site attendance (3 days per week) and willingness to work extended hours as neededQualificationsBachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred (HR/recruiting certifications a plus)3 years of legal industry recruiting experienceStrong understanding of the California legal marketDemonstrated commitment to inclusion and equity in recruitmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHighly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and adapt quicklyStrong client-facing presence, professionalism, and confidenceAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environmentProficient with MS Office; familiarity with recruiting/ATS systems such as Dayforce and LawCruitAbility to maintain strict confidentialityCompensation & BenefitsHourly rate: $33.65–$43.27/hr DOEExcellent benefits packageHybrid schedule (3 days in office)Equal Opportunity EmployerThe firm is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religious creed, color, national origin, ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, sex, gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, or any other protected category.
