What are the responsibilities and job description for the Immigration Associate (H-2A and H-2B) - TX (Hybrid) position at Direct Counsel?
Direct Counsel is partnering with an AmLaw 200 firm seeking an Immigration Attorney with 3-5 years of experience for its Immigration business unit in their Texas offices. Candidates must also have an active bar membership in good standing (any U.S. jurisdiction). This is a full-time position with the ability to work remotely two days per week.
Advise corporate clients on employment-based immigration strategies and compliance, with a focus on H-2A and H-2B matters. Manage case strategy, client communications, applications, recruitment documentation, and related government filings.
- Significant employment-based immigration experience.
- Experience with H-2A and H-2B visas is required including advising employers on program eligibility, recruitment requirements, compliance obligations, petition preparation, and ongoing workforce planning.
- Experience handling a broad range of employment-based immigration matters, including H-1B petitions, PERM labor certifications, I-140 immigrant petitions, Adjustment of Status applications, L-1 intracompany transferees, and TN classifications.
- Should be comfortable serving as a trusted advisor to employers navigating complex workforce and immigration challenges, including temporary and seasonal labor needs.
- Experience counseling clients directly on a variety of immigration matters and assisting with the preparation and filing of petitions and applications before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of Labor (DOL), and other government agencies.
- Possess strong advocacy, research, and writing skills; a high-level attention to detail; and strong academic credentials.
- Be able to stay organized and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced client-service environment
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range: $125,000 – $145,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
Bonus: Annual discretionary performance bonus
