Direct Counsel is seeking an Associate, Senior Associate, or Counsel Attorney to join the Compensation, Benefits & ERISA – Health & Welfare Plans practice of a highly regarded Am Law 100 firm in Atlanta, Georgia.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney with 3 years of employee benefits experience to join a nationally recognized Employee Benefits practice advising employers, plan sponsors, and other organizations on complex health and welfare plan compliance, regulatory matters, and employee benefits law.
Key Responsibilities

Advise clients on the design, administration, and compliance of health and welfare benefit plans.

Counsel employers and plan sponsors on compliance with federal employee benefits laws and regulations.

Provide legal guidance regarding:

HIPAA
-
COBRA
-
The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA)
-
The No Surprises Act
-
The Affordable Care Act (ACA)

Analyze regulatory developments and advise clients on compliance strategies and risk management.

Draft legal memoranda, plan documents, policies, and client communications.

Collaborate with attorneys across tax, labor and employment, and corporate practices to provide comprehensive employee benefits counsel.
Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

Active Bar membership in good standing.

3 years of experience in employee benefits law with a focus on health and welfare plans.

Strong working knowledge of HIPAA, COBRA, MHPAEA, the No Surprises Act, and the Affordable Care Act.

Experience advising employers and plan sponsors on health and welfare benefits compliance.

Excellent analytical, drafting, research, and client counseling skills.

Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
