Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join a well-respected California-based law firm known for its collaborative culture and sophisticated commercial practice. This position is ideal for an attorney with 3–4 years of business and commercial litigation experience who thrives in a collegial, team-oriented environment.
About the Role
The incoming associate will work on a broad range of complex commercial disputes and business litigation matters. You’ll take on substantive responsibility early, with opportunities to draft and argue motions, conduct depositions, and participate in trial or arbitration preparation alongside seasoned litigators.
Key Responsibilities
Draft pleadings, briefs, correspondence, and discovery responses.
Participate in depositions, oral arguments, and pretrial preparation.
Manage cases efficiently while collaborating with partners and associates.
Demonstrate strong analytical skills and sound professional judgment.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
3–4 years of experience in business and/or commercial litigation.
Admission to the State Bar of California required.
Excellent writing, research, and communication skills.
Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Expected base salary range: $225,000 – $250,000, depending on experience.
