Direct Counsel is seeking an Associate Attorney to join a highly respected litigation firm in Claremont, California. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator looking to take ownership of an active caseload while working alongside a team dedicated to representing policyholders in complex insurance coverage and bad faith disputes.
The ideal candidate is seeking a long-term opportunity with a collaborative firm and has a strong background in civil litigation from pre-trial through case resolution.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage an existing litigation caseload independently.
- Represent clients throughout all stages of pre-trial litigation in both state and federal courts.
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and client correspondence.
- Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and other litigation proceedings.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and other research platforms.
- Provide strategic legal counsel and sound judgment to clients.
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to achieve successful case outcomes.
- Maintain exceptional client service and professional communication throughout each matter.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California Bar in good standing.
- 5–10 years of litigation experience preferred.
- Experience handling all stages of pre-trial litigation in state and federal courts.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Compensation
Base Salary: $150,000 with discretionary bonuses and a guaranteed minimum total compensation of $175,000.
