Direct Counsel is seeking an Affordable Housing Transactional Attorney with 6–8 years of experience to join a sophisticated real estate and public law practice serving affordable housing developers, public agencies, and community development stakeholders throughout California.

Responsibilities
- Structure, negotiate, and draft affordable housing development and financing agreements
- Prepare and negotiate loan documents, ground leases, regulatory agreements, easements, and related transactional documents for multifamily housing developments
- Advise clients on affordable housing policy and regulatory compliance matters
- Support affordable housing acquisition, development, financing, and disposition transactions
- Collaborate with developers, lenders, public agencies, and project stakeholders throughout all phases of development
- Assist with complex real estate and public-private partnership transactions
Qualifications
- 6–8 years of transactional legal experience focused on affordable housing matters
- Significant experience with affordable housing development and financing transactions
- Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and client counseling skills
- Experience with first-time homebuyer programs, construction documents, and commercial leasing is a plus
- Ability to manage sophisticated transactions independently while collaborating effectively with clients and colleagues
- California Bar admission required
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $190,000 – $225,000
- Annual performance-based and billable hours bonuses
- Mainly Remote – Must reside in California!
