The 5th grade teacher is responsible for planning and delivering instruction that supports students’ academic, social, spiritual and emotional development during an important transitional year in elementary school.
- Plan and implement engaging lessons in core subjects such as reading, writing, math, science, and social studies
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly
- Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Manage classroom behavior using consistent expectations and appropriate interventions
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and administration to support student success
- Integrate technology and instructional resources to enhance learning
- Prepare students for increased academic expectations and independence in upper grades
