St John the Baptist, New Haven - Long Term Substitute 4th grade Teacher

St. John’s Catholic School New Haven, is seeking a Long Term Sub for our 4th grade teacher. The Educator will be responsible for integrating the mission of St. John’s Catholic School and the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend in all planning, teaching, grading, and in all school duties for the betterment of our students.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provides grade Four Indiana Academic Standards for students.

• Foster critical thinking and problem-solving through meaningful learning experiences

• Develops lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Diocesan Curriculum.

• Assess student progress regularly and communicate effectively with students and families

• Collaborate with faculty and administration to support student success

• Integrate faith, values, and the St. John’s mission into classroom culture and instruction

• Maintain lesson plans, grading, and classroom organization in a timely and professional manner

• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as appropriate

• Uses relevant technology to support/enhance instruction.
• Maintains appropriate control through positive discipline techniques to enhance the learning environment.
• Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
• Provides regular and consistent communication with parents, students, staff and administration
• Performs assigned duties when needed for the supervision of students before, during or after school including lunch duties, recess duties, dismissal duties, detention and any other duties assigned by the administration.

• Bachelor's degree in Education, or related field
• Valid Indiana teaching certification or ability to obtain certification preferred
• Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Ability to engage students through creative and differentiated instruction
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to supporting the mission and values at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic school
• Ability to complete Safe Environment training and required background checks
