Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble bakery and deli items according to quality standards, including slicing meats, cheeses, and baked goods
- Provide friendly, attentive customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and upselling items to enhance sales
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS efficiently for transactions including cash handling and credit card processing
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, food displays, and customer areas in compliance with food safety regulations
- Restock shelves, display cases, and refrigerated units to ensure product availability and visual appeal
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as wrapping sandwiches, assembling salads, or preparing baked goods for sale
- Support cashiering duties by managing cash registers accurately while providing excellent service during busy hours
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or food service environments such as quick service restaurants or cafés is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS enhances efficiency in transaction processing
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks quickly while maintaining quality standards
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for sales transactions and inventory management
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and effective communication abilities
- Experience working in retail or grocery store settings is a plus; culinary experience is valued but not required
