Overview
We’re seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to assist with sample and tool making for Engineering and Production. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with authoring in Mastercam and SolidWorks, a strong understanding drafting and machining tolerances, and a commitment to precision and process reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Engineering on prototyping.
- Program and operate CNC machines for prototyping and short-run production projects.
- Optimize machining processes for efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability.
- Collaborate with Production and Purchasing teams to create tools that improve assembly and part inspection.
- Support CNC equipment with organizing machine maintenance, tool life and inventory, and tooling and supplies organization.
- Evaluate in-house and sourced fabricated parts as well as meet specifications.
- Verify technical drawings, models, and part documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Inspect and measure components.
Qualifications
- 2 Years experience of CNC machining.
- Proficiency with Mastercam Mill & Lathe and SolidWorks.
- Ability to develop comprehensive CAM programs for 3-axis/3 2 mill and turning center, and to prove out programs.
- Experience in drafting, fixture design, and part inspection.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, and machining principles.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Must be self-sufficient and able to work with minimal instruction to achieve project goals.
Preferred
- NIMS, CMS, or CQE certification
- Experience with prototype and low-volume production environments.
- Experience systems of quality such as ISO9001/AS9100.
