Dignity Home Health & Hospice is growing and seeking a dependable On-Call Registered Nurse (RN) to support patients and families during after-hours care. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse who values thoughtful, patient-centered care and works well independently while staying connected to a supportive team.
Position Details
- Job Type: Part-Time, On-Call
- Work Location: Multiple locations throughout Utah County
- Looking to fill up to 2 weekends a mounth
- After-hours coverage Friday 5:00 p.m. to Monday 7:55 a.m.
Role Overview
The On-Call RN provides clinical assessment, guidance, and in-person care during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. You will serve as a key point of support for patients, families, and care partners outside of regular business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to after-hours patient needs with in-person visits and through phone triage
- Assess patients in their place of residence, including private homes, assisted living, and skilled nursing facilities
- Provide clear guidance and reassurance to patients, families, and facility staff
- Complete after-hours admissions as needed
- Document care accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to support continuity of care
Qualifications
- 1 year of home health and/or hospice experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Reliable, calm, and professional in urgent or unfamiliar situations
- Respectful, patient-focused approach to care
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable using electronic medical records
- Reliable transportation
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Utah Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
- Current CPR certification (required)
- Valid Utah driver’s license with current auto insurance
