Position: Purchasing Specialist

Location: Berkeley Heights, NJ (100% On-Site)

Length: Permanent

Job Description:

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for coordinating purchases for the company including supplies, inventory products, raw materials and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage supplier and vendor relationships
• Maintain records of goods ordered and received
• Locate vendors of materials, equipment and supplies, and determine availability, terms of sales, costing and other key product information.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement
• Experience working within ERP systems
• Understanding of Sage system
• Strong sourcing capabilities, including the ability to research suppliers, obtain multiple quotes, and evaluate options—not just process purchase orders
• Highly organized and process-oriented, with a focus on improving efficiency and challenging existing workflows when needed
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
