Job Description:
We are seeking a mid- to senior-level Equipment Technician to support a semiconductor fab in Durham, NC. This role focuses on equipment repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to ensure maximum up time. Coverage may include Epi, Diffusion, Plasma (Deposition/Etch), Wet Etch, Photolithography, Metrology, and more, with the expectation to support multiple areas.
Shifts:
We are hiring for two full-time night shift schedules (12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM):
- Option 1: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Saturday
- Option 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday
Training will begin on a standard 5x8 day shift schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform equipment repair, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and modifications with minimal supervision. Support new equipment installs with Engineering. Use diagnostic tools to resolve issues, maintain logs and inventory, and assist in root cause investigations. Follow all safety and cleanroom protocols. Communicate effectively across shifts and work collaboratively to meet production goals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience with recent experience in semiconductor fab repair and maintenance.
- Technical education preferred in electronics and/or mechanics, may be offset by experience.
- Must be able to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Able to work on multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize issues and tasks according to production needs.
- Experienced with handling toxic and reactive chemicals and gases common to the semiconductor industry.
- Good written and verbal skills, possesses good keyboard and computer skills.
