Data Governance Analyst (W2)

Job Description: Role: Data Governance AnalystLocation: Remote Key Responsibilities:Atlan Platform & Metadata ManagementSupport implementation and operational use of the Atlan data catalogCurate and maintainBusiness glossary termsTechnical metadata (tables, columns, schemas)Ownership and stewardship assignmentsTags, classifications, and data domainsAssist with metadata ingestion, validation, and quality checksSupport lineage review and validation with technical teamsEnsure metadata aligns with governance standards and business context Business Glossary & StandardsAssist with development and maintenance of the business glossaryEnsure definitions are clear, consistent, and business friendlyHelp align business terms to technical assets in the catalogSupport review and approval workflows for glossary and metadata updates Governance Process EnablementSupport the execution of data governance processes and standardsAssist with onboarding data domains and subject areas into AtlanHelp document governance procedures, guidelines, and best practicesTrack governance activities and support issue intake and resolution Data Governance & Domain EnablementPartner with data owners and data stewards to onboard data domains into AtlanSupport domain-based governance models, including:Domain classificationOwnership accountabilityDomain scoped access considerationsHelp define and document governance processes, standards, and operating proceduresAssist with stewardship workflows, approvals, and issue resolution RBAC & Access SupportSupport role-based access control (RBAC) implementation in AtlanAssist in:Defining base roles and permissionsValidating domain-based access modelsSupporting access reviews and auditsCoordinate with security and platform administrators as neededStakeholder Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Act as a liaison between business, technical, and governance teamsSupport governance working groups and implementation planning sessionsIdentify opportunities to improve metadata quality, usability, and adoptionTrack and report on governance and catalog adoption metrics Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience)5- 7 years of experience in:Data governanceData managementMetadata managementAnalytics or data platform supportExperience working with a data catalog or governance platform (Atlan preferred; Collibra, Alation acceptable)Strong understanding of:Business vs. technical metadataData domains and ownership modelsData governance concepts and best practicesExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Preferred QualificationsHands‑on experience supporting an Atlan implementationFamiliarity with:Snowflake or cloud data platformsBI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)Data quality concepts and toolingExposure to data quality, privacy, or compliance initiativesExperience supporting enterprise data programs or platform implementationsKnowledge of data privacy, sensitivity classification, or compliance frameworks

Salary : $90 - $100
