About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Junior Support Engineer to assist in supporting and maintaining Power over Ethernet (PoE) smart lighting and IoT-based building systems for our clients. In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers and support teams to troubleshoot issues, ensure system performance, and deliver high-quality technical support across a range of client environments including finance, hospitality, commercial real estate, and enterprise sectors.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide first-line technical support for PoE smart lighting systems, including troubleshooting hardware, network, and software-related issues.
• Assist in monitoring system performance, identifying faults, and ensuring optimal operation of deployed smart lighting and IoT systems.
• Support commissioning activities, including system testing, configuration, and validation of lighting and network components.
• Respond to client support requests, diagnose issues, and provide timely resolutions or escalate complex problems to senior engineers.
• Collaborate with engineering, installation, and project teams to resolve technical issues and support ongoing system improvements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of support tickets, troubleshooting steps, system configurations, and resolutions.
• Assist in remote and on-site support activities, including system upgrades, patches, and maintenance tasks.
• Contribute to knowledge base development, standard operating procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support client onboarding and handover processes by ensuring systems are fully operational and properly documented.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality assurance practices, and company support protocols.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• 1–3 years of experience in technical support, IT support, or engineering roles, preferably in smart buildings, IoT systems, low-voltage systems, or networking.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, PoE, switches, connectivity troubleshooting).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical clients.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems, documentation practices, and support workflows.
• Ability to manage multiple support requests and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Associates/BA degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Information Technology) or equivalent practical experience preferred.
Preferred Skills
• Experience supporting PoE lighting systems or smart building technologies.
• Familiarity with IoT devices, lighting control systems, and networked building infrastructure.
• Exposure to commissioning, system integration, or field support in commercial environments.
• Understanding of enterprise environments such as finance, hospitality, or commercial real estate.
