Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Histology Technician, where you will play a vital role in preparing and processing tissue specimens for diagnostic purposes. This temporary position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a smaller sixed laboratory environment, contributing to accurate disease diagnosis. You will collaborate closely with our pathologist and our histology staff members to ensure high-quality specimen handling and precise laboratory procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare tissue specimens through fixation, embedding, sectioning, and staining techniques to ensure optimal quality for microscopic examination.
- Accurately process and label specimens, maintaining strict adherence to laboratory protocols and safety standards.
- Perform laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of all laboratory procedures, specimen taking, and quality control measures.
Skills
- Proven experience in clinical or research laboratory settings, with a strong understanding of histology laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology relevent to tissue processing and histology
- Skilled in tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, (including immunochemistry). And if applicable, gross dissection per CLIA regs.
- Familiarity with hospital or private laboratory environments.
- Have a strong attention to detail and be able to work as part of a team.
Pay: From $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
