Digestive Care Center is seeking a Full Time Call Center Nurse who is self-motivated, well organized and enjoys a fast-paced work environment to join our team in our patient call center. This position provides patient care assistance through phone calls and the completion of tasks from physicians and nurse practitioners. The nurse utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill and competence in a specialized patient care center. Works collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, clinic and support staff to provide compassionate, quality patient care.
What You Need for this Position:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical office experience preferred.
- Registered Nurse with license in active good standing.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Accepts all phone calls from patients, ancillary providers and hospitals including prep calls, medication questions, symptoms, clinical questions, progress reports and more.
- Redirects calls if appropriate.
- Provides lab and radiology departments with diagnosis and ICD-10 codes.
- Provides patients with X-ray, test and lab work results as directed by providers.
- Follows call management protocol and other protocols developed by physicians and staff appropriately.
- Efficiently schedules patient X-rays, MRI’s, CT scans, Manometry, 24-hour PH, Paracentesis, Liver biopsies, lab work & tests as ordered by providers.
- Schedules patients in appropriate facility in order for patient to receive maximum insurance coverage and reimbursement.
- Coordinates scheduling of procedures with scheduling department
- Completes referrals to physicians & ancillary providers for consults and follow up.
- Calls in prescriptions (new and refills) including paperwork required for processing
- Places recalls in gMed from hospital face sheets.
