DiFebo's Restaurant group is looking to hire experienced talented pastry chefs and bakers. Our bakers will use her/his culinary talents and focus on upscale pastry production, cakes, ice cream and breads. We are looking for candidates that have the ability to WOW our dine in guests as well as the ability to create unique and delicious desserts....As a decorator, the pastry chef will produce alluring creations that customers wish to buy, as well as follow instructions for personalized cakes and other pastries. The organizational skills will be utilized to ensure that all orders are handled appropriately so that the bakery never runs out of ingredients for any of our products. We are looking for a sharp eye that has the ability to keep a retail bakery area exciting and delicious as well as the ability to keep our guests excited and wanting more.
Responsibilities:
Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes
Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers
Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful
Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and place appropriate orders within the budget
Check quality of materials and condition of equipment and devices for cooking
Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently
Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel
Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards
Requirements:
Proven experience as pastry chef or baker
Great attention to detail and creativity
Organizing and leadership skills
Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.)
Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field
