What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trademark Associate Attorney position at Dickinson Wright?
Dickinson Wright is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join its Las Vegas Trademark and Copyright group. The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of experience managing global trademark portfolios, conducting clearance searches, and handling USPTO prosecution and TTAB matters. Successful candidates will also demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to take ownership of matters, work independently and collaboratively, and exhibit superior writing, communication, and organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail. Candidates must also be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a high-volume docket.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting and analyzing US and international clearance searches and advising clients on risk and registrability of proposed trademarks.
- Managing all aspects of US trademark filing and prosecution, including preparing and filing of applications, reviewing and analyzing office actions, and drafting office action responses.
- Overseeing foreign counsel regarding international prosecution and enforcement matters.
- Advising clients on brand protection and enforcement strategies.
- Preparing and filing pleadings in ex parte and inter partes proceedings before the TTAB.
- Drafting and negotiating an array of IP-related agreements, including licenses, assignments, consents, coexistence agreements, and settlement agreements.
