Job Summary:
The River Crew plays a vital role in maintaining the beauty, safety, and overall guest experience along the scenic Illinois River and throughout our resort grounds. Crew members will assist with groundskeeping, river operations, equipment maintenance, float trip support, and guest services.
Job Duties:
Load and unload float equipment including rafts, tubes, and canoes onto trailers.
Help guests prepare for their river trips by providing safety instructions, assisting with life jackets, and explaining trip routes.
Conduct basic river rescues or aid stranded guests, under supervision and training.
Assist with the transportation of guests and equipment to and from river launch sites using company vehicles.
Assist guests with launching, docking, and retrieving canoes, kayaks, and rafts safely.
Perform river safety checks and maintain river access points and landing areas.
Monitor river conditions and communicate with management about potential hazards (e.g., high water, debris).
Clean, inspect, repair, and store float equipment after use.
Support setup and breakdown for resort events, including tents, chairs, and signage.
Maintain clean and well-kept resort grounds, including lawn care, landscaping, trash removal, and facility upkeep.
Perform routine inspections of the property to ensure safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
When needed, operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as mowers, weed trimmers, blowers, and hand tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a valid OK driver's license.
Ability to swim confidently and work around water environments.
Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, rain, etc.).
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50-100 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Experience with landscaping, grounds maintenance, or river outfitting is a plus, but not required.
Work Schedule:
Temporary and full-time positions available.
Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts (early mornings and evenings).
Must be at least 18 years of age.
