Job Summary:
The CDL Bus Driver will transport guests between designated pick-up and drop-off locations throughout the resort's river float operations. This position plays a vital role in providing exceptional customer service while ensuring passengers are transported safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all federal, state, and company regulations.
Job Duties:
- Safely operate commercial passenger buses on established routes.
- Transport guests to and from river access points, parking areas, campgrounds, and other designated resort locations.
- Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT requirements.
- Maintain accurate vehicle inspection reports and required documentation.
- Ensure passengers board, ride, and exit the bus safely.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests, answering basic questions, and offering directions when needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized bus interior and exterior.
- Report maintenance concerns, accidents, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies.
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment or personal belongings when appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and resort staff regarding schedules and transportation needs.
- Assist other operational departments during slow periods as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement required.
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and motor vehicle record review.
- Must comply with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Clean driving record with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Previous commercial passenger transportation experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate large passenger vehicles in varying weather and traffic conditions.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle.
- Ability to enter and exit the bus multiple times throughout the day.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Bend, stoop, climb, and reach as needed.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and cold.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
