Purpose:
As an NPI Sourcing Manager you will be responsible for the sourcing and the supply chain strategy related to the New Product Introduction process. The successful candidate will be able to reduce our Time to Market, engage with Engineering and Suppliers to develop and qualify new products and new components and optimize cost. Your role will establish project management processes and tools to drive efficiency and satisfy internal customers needs.
Shift & Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (ON-SITE)
Responsibilities:
- Improve TTM (time to market)
- Conduct DFM (Design for Manufacturing) sessions with suppliers / ENG
- Analyze components & products cost
- Negotiate prices and lead times
- Drive innovation - seek ideas (out of the box thinking)
- Establish processes and standard work to drive efficiency
- Manage BOM cost to launch products at most profitable margins
- Identify suppliers for new components & products
- Collaborate with Engineering to work with suppliers that can scale and fit our Supply Chain Strategy
- Align with the overarching Supply Chain strategy
- Propose risk buys as needed to shorten development cycles
- Work with our Quality organization to qualify suppliers and materials
- Develop strategic supplier partnerships capable of supporting prototype, pilot, and production volumes.
- Lead cross-functional sourcing activities involving Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and Finance throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Travel (minimum) as required
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with project management tools
- Category specific knowledge (desired) - steel fab parts, tires, hydraulic systems, powder paint, batteries
- Internal customer focus - ability to create and maintain trusted relationships with internal customers
- Negotiation and cost analysis skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Data processing skills (Excel)
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity in an ever changing environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience
