Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and documentation procedures
- Provide compassionate dementia and Alzheimer's care, implementing memory care strategies to enhance quality of life
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and repositioning
- Engage residents in social activities, group outings, and recreational programs to promote socialization and mental stimulation
- Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas in accordance with health standards
- Communicate effectively with residents’ families and healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and updates
- Follow safety protocols including first aid procedures, CPR certification requirements, and safe patient lifting practices
- Support the operation of the facility by assisting with light housekeeping duties, meal preparation, and transportation as needed
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care settings is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of dementia, memory care, Alzheimer's disease, and cognitive disabilities
- Proficiency in vital signs measurement, medication administration, first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures
- Ability to operate EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for documentation purposes
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or geriatrics is preferred
- Skilled in manual handling techniques including safe patient lifting practices and use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts
- Excellent communication skills for engaging clients effectively while maintaining professionalism and empathy
- Capable of heavy lifting and physical activity required for resident transfers or facility maintenance tasks
