Telecom Technician (On-Site – Paris, VA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Telecom Technician to perform on-site installation work in Paris, Virginia. This role focuses on early-stage (rough-in) infrastructure, including underfloor electrical support, structured cabling, and fire alarm system pre-wire. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced working in active construction environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and route underfloor electrical pathways and supports for telecom systems
- Perform rough-in installation of low-voltage telecom cabling (Cat6, fiber, etc.)
- Assist with fire alarm system rough-in, including conduit and device backboxes
- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
- Coordinate with electricians, contractors, and site supervisors to ensure proper placement and compliance
- Maintain job site safety standards and ensure clean, organized work areas
Requirements:
- Proven experience with low-voltage cabling and rough-in installations
- Familiarity with fire alarm pre-wire and basic electrical concepts
- Ability to read blueprints and follow technical specifications
- Comfortable working on construction sites and underfloor environments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project timelines
