Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-05 if applying at the GS-06 level, or GS-06 if applying at the GS-07 level) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
GS-06 Specialized Experience is defined as: research, interpret, and apply a wide range of military pay regulations and laws to identify problems and recommend solutions.
GS-07 Specialized Experience is defined as: research, interpret, and apply a wide range of military pay regulations and laws to resolve a wide range of issues and use of various automated systems to accurately process claims and corrective actions.
** To verify you meet the time-in-grade requirement, please provide a copy of a recent SF-50 that shows you have completed at least 52 weeks at the next lower grade level.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-06, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-05 or higher in the Federal service.
