What You'll Do
The Production Manager is a key leadership position within the organization. This role will have primary focus on driving all production activities throughout the facility. Through hands on mentoring and coaching this role will help guide the shop floor to ensure we meet our safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets through a continuous improvement approach.
- Help drive a safety focused culture through employee engagement
- Own and drive a positive culture of communication, trust, and performance through lean methodologies
- Schedule daily/weekly production requirements
- Ensure daily productivity goals are met
- Ensure monthly labor and supply budgets are met
- Work with customer service, quality, engineering, materials, and shipping to ensure all requirements of internal and external customers are met
- Drive and implement 17 Steps of the Dexter Operating System – Lean/CI Focus
- Coach and mentor team members to facilitate knowledge and growth
- Supervises, mentors, and directs production supervisors
- Supports the systems to report Key Process Indicators (KPI’s), conducting the standard meetings and driving the identification of abnormalities, discovering root cause and problem solving to prevent recurrence
- Ensure quality procedures are followed and achieve 100% on time delivery
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 5 years’ manufacturing experience in a fast-paced environment
- 3 years of supervisory experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, systematic approach to problem solving, lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience, ability to lead teams and provide mentoring as needed
- Physical Requirements: Talking, sitting, standing, walking, lifting a minimum of 10 lbs., reaching, pushing, and pulling.
