Job Description
Determines most effective way to create a product or service. Develops ways to increase productivity, maximize efficiency, and manage human capital more effectively. Assists with the development, implementation, evaluation, documentation, visual management, training and facilitation of the Continuous Improvement efforts at the plant level. Administers safety training and, tracking of certifications and licenses, testing, workers compensation reporting, and OSHA record keeping. Works with and maintains documents and information that are highly confidential in nature. Depending on assigned responsibilities, the Industrial Engineer/HSE may perform all or some of the following duties.

Job Description

Depending on assigned responsibilities, the Industrial Engineer/HSE may perform all or some of the following duties.
HSE Essential Duties And Responsibilities.
- Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
- Prepares accurate and timely reports, as required, for governmental compliance or management needs.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation for HSE.
- Responsible for staying up to date with regulatory changes and technology.
- Must consider safety to be the top priority of the organization and able to recognize/evaluate safety concerns.
- Evaluate, assess and update safety procedures to ensure worker safety and compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards.
- Prepare and conduct safety-training sessions, documenting employee participation.
- Conduct safety audits, provide feedback to relative parties, and ensure actions are completed from internal and external safety audit results.
- Manage Near-Miss, First Aid and safety programs. Maintaining monthly accident analysis and required reporting.
- Oversee training and safety inspections on personnel, materials, and equipment.
- Responsible for staying up to date with regulatory changes and technology.
- Responsible for conducting, and reporting, required permits and coordinating monthly, quarterly, and yearly HSE compliance forms and testing.
- Performs other tasks or duties as assigned.
- Establishes and maintains Plant-wide production standards data.
- Establishes consistent production standards and evaluates existing standards on a regular basis.
- Maintains time study documentation as required to implement and support incentive standards; ensures all distributed documentation is accurate.
- Provides Industrial Engineering support for standard costing. Maintains all Plant standard practice instructions (SPIs). Provides analysis of direct and indirect activities and costs.
- Recommends cost reduction opportunities from both labor changes and processes improvements.
- Assists in developing and implementing training programs as required.
- Assists Plant in methods/process development. Evaluates Plant layouts and proposes improvements.
- Works with Engineering department to ensure Plant is using the most cost-effective methods available.
- OSHA 30 hour or equivalent preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering.
