Right-of-Way Agent

Position Details:

Job Title: Right of Way Agent III

Location: Apex NC 27539/ Lexington, South Carolina

Duration: 6 month contract with potential extension

Pay rate: $50-55/hr

NOTE: Candidate will travel around in SC, NC, and VA

Position Summary

The organization is seeking a seasoned Right of Way Agent with extensive experience in land acquisition and permitting functions for new construction and operational projects. This fully on-site role requires candidates to be local and already residing near designated office locations in North Carolina or South Carolina.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform land and rights of way acquisition activities within assigned locations.
• Develop preliminary pipeline routes, cost estimates, and project schedules.
• Prepare reports related to easement rights, title updates, and landowner claims.
• Draft and negotiate legal agreements associated with real property.
• Obtain permits from private, local, state, and federal agencies.
• Assess, negotiate, settle, and process damage claims through checks or financial settlements.
• Work independently with limited guidance from the Land Manager or Supervisor.

Required Qualifications

• Must hold an active North Carolina Real Estate License.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in land and rights of way activities.
• Proven ability to develop pipeline routes, project estimates, and schedules.
• Experience in drafting legal agreements and securing permits.
• Strong negotiation skills for settling damage claims.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Residing near the specified office locations in North Carolina or South Carolina.
