Position: Hardware Test Technician

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Hardware Test Technician to support the testing, validation, and compliance of electronic hardware systems and components. This role is responsible for executing test procedures, maintaining test environments, and ensuring products meet regulatory and quality standards.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with electronic test equipment, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in a lab or engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hardware testing and validation of electronic systems and components
- Execute tests in accordance with industry and regulatory standards (e.g., UL, FCC, IEC, FM)
- Set up, configure, and maintain test environments, equipment, and infrastructure
- Operate and troubleshoot test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers
- Support the development and execution of test fixtures and test procedures
- Document, track, and report defects and test results, ensuring issues are reproducible and well-characterized
- Assist in compliance and certification testing, including safety and RF-related evaluations
- Analyze test data and provide technical feedback and recommendations
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, reports, and test records
- Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to resolve issues
- Support continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies
- Participate in ad hoc projects and lab activities as needed
Qualifications
- 5 years of technical experience, OR
- Associate’s degree or 2-year technical training program in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field
- Experience working in a hardware testing or lab environment
- Familiarity with electronic components, systems, and testing methodologies
- Experience with compliance or regulatory testing is a plus (UL, FCC, IEC, FM)
- Basic understanding of RF testing principles is a plus
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD) is a plus
Key Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency with electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, etc.)
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- High attention to detail, especially in data collection and documentation
- Experience with test setup design and fixture development
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Visio)
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and networking (IP wiring) is a plus
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Work Environment & Requirements
- Lab-based, hands-on role involving hardware testing and setup
- May require standing, bending, and lifting (up to ~50 lbs)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
