Job Summary
The CAD / CAM Programmer designs and develops programs using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software. This role ensures precision, efficiency, and quality in machine cutting solutions by generating and optimizing CNC machine code.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 2D and 3D models using CAD software based on engineering drawings and specifications
- Develop programs to generate toolpaths for CNC cutting machines
- Convert designs into machine-readable code
- Set up and optimize machining processes for efficiency and accuracy
- Simulate machining processes to detect errors or issues
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production teams to refine designs
- Maintain documentation for programs, setups, and processes
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., VersaFAB, or similar)
- Solid understanding of CNC machining and tooling
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Knowledge of G-code and M-code programming
- Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Education & Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years of experience in CAD/CAM programming or CNC machining
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ANC cutting machining
- Certification in CNC programming or CAD/CAM tools
