Job Summary
Dex by Terra is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Project Manager to take the lead in expertly planning, meticulously supervising, and successfully finalizing a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects. This critical role involves the comprehensive organization and rigorous oversight of commercial construction procedures from inception to completion. The primary goal is to ensure the timely, efficient, and on-budget delivery of every project while strictly adhering to all required technical specifications, building codes, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in managing complex projects, demonstrating exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities to drive project success and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Plan, organize, and rigorously supervise all phases from concept to completion, ensuring deliverables meet specifications and client expectations.
- Procedural Optimization: Systematically organize and coordinate all construction procedures, workflows, and trades for timely, cost-effective, and efficient execution, including developing detailed schedules and critical path analyses.
- Communication and Readiness: Proactively communicate with Site Superintendents, ensuring timely procurement, readiness, and staging of all materials, equipment, and subcontractors to prevent delays and adhere to master schedules.
- Financial Stewardship: Collaborate with Purchasing and Project Management to manage job budgets, implement cost controls, analyze variances, and seek value engineering to maintain profitability.
- Team Leadership: Coordinate, guide, and mentor a multi-disciplinary team to foster collaboration and achieve superior project outcomes and performance targets.
- Compliance and Quality: Establish, monitor, and enforce strict adherence to quality assurance protocols, OSHA/safety, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Organizational Management: Effectively manage multiple simultaneous projects and complex tasks under pressure, maintaining exceptional detail, organization, and accuracy in all documentation and execution.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience (5 years) as a Project Manager in commercial landscape, concrete, or flatwork construction.
- In-depth understanding of construction methodologies, procedures, and material/project management principles.
- Extensive knowledge of site landscape and hardscape.
- Familiarity with construction/project management software and Microsoft/Apple applications.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and complete projects profitably, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to perform effectively and maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Must be a collaborative team player.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The position necessitates working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. It requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping, and the occasional ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
