Dewberry is seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to work with a project team and assist in the design of building mechanical system (plumbing, fire protection and HVAC) projects for our Raleigh, NC office.

The position requires a strong technical background, excellence in design, attention to detail and quality control, and the ability to work in a team environment. Job duties include the preparation of mechanical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings, specifications, schedules and budgets for building mechanical and utility distribution systems under the supervision of a registered Professional Engineer. The candidate should be able to work in diverse teams and be successful interacting with project team members, clients and contractors.
- Previous internship experience with a consulting engineering firm, a plus
- Certification as an Engineering Intern (NCEES) and experience with Revit, AutoCAD, MS Word and MS Excel is a plus.
- Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills are important throughout the design and construction process.
- A valid driver's license is required. Occasional travel might be required.

Summer Intern Program
During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee.
