Duties
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices.
- Administer medication and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans and medical guidelines, ensuring safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, implementing behavior management strategies and personalized care plans.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and assist with feeding as needed, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Document care activities accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, updating progress notes and incident reports regularly.
- Drive clients to appointments or outings safely while adhering to traffic laws and maintaining vehicle safety protocols.
- Engage in conflict management and behavior support techniques to foster a calm environment for individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Perform light cleaning duties to ensure a safe and sanitary living environment for residents or clients.
- Participate in ongoing training on medical terminology, first aid, hospice care principles, and emergency response procedures to enhance your caregiving expertise.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and provide compassionate senior or disability care.
- experience with medication administration and vital signs monitoring is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting and transferring residents using Hoyer lifts safely.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for transportation duties; CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
