Devon Gables is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated, and collaborative individual to fill the role of Assistant Director of Food and Nutrition. The mission of the Food and Nutrition Department at Devon Gables is to provide exceptional service and food to the residents of the facility.
This role will work collaboratively with the Director of Food and Nutrition to oversee the Food and Nutrition Department.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the supervision of Dietary Aides
- Effectively communicates to residents, resident families, and staff
- Communicate effectively with the Director of Food and Nutrition
- Cover positions as needed
- Assists in inventory and stocking the refrigerators, freezer, and dry storage
- Delivers and maintains supplement levels to all floors
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Food and Nutrition Department.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of the Food and Nutrition Department.
- Interview residents for food preferences
- Assist in handling complaints about food and personnel
- Participate in working groups, such as the safety committee
- Assist in leading staff in-services
- Be on call to assist with both managerial duties and shift coverage
- Assist in ensuring Food and Nutrition Department personnel are following established procedures.
- Assist in all personnel matters as needed
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order
- Consistent communication & collaboration with the Director of Food and Nutrition
Education
Minimum of an Associate's Degree plus CDM CFPP credential
Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related discipline
Must be ServSafe Certified Food Manager
Experience
Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a food service setting.
Preferred experience of 1-2 years in a hospital, long-term care, or other related medical care food service facility
