We perform a variety of services including property management, facilities management, construction, leasing and property analytics. DSA maintains a strong customer focus and creates value by providing superior service and remaining responsive to the needs of our clients. We are currently seeking a bright and experienced Senior Property Accountant for our corporate offices located in North Scottsdale.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct full-service accounting duties for a complex real estate portfolio consisting of office, industrial, agricultural and mixed-use properties.
  • Manage the month-end closing process and prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Maintain monthly close schedules, including recurring journal entries, bank reconciliation, fixed assets, prepaids, straight-line rent, depreciation/amortization, and various other accruals.
  • Oversee A/R and A/P activity and provide guidance to Property Accountant I to ensure cash applications are coded properly.
  • Prepare annual CAM and real estate billings and perform annual CAM reconciliations; assemble necessary detail and back-up for tenant’s use.
  • Assist with preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecast using Yardi Forecast Manager.
  • Assist with updating periodic reporting such as property valuations using Yardi Valuation Manager and quarterly board meeting materials. 
  • Perform all lease administration duties, including entering leases in Yardi, preparing default notices, and ensuring accurate billing.
  • Partnering with Director of Real Estate and Leasing to manage the lease pipeline, assist with the tenant onboarding, and monitor tenant work orders using Facilities Manager and Commercial Cafe.
  • Review and maintain fixed asset activity, including additions, dispositions and depreciation expense.
  • Assist the Tax group by preparing year-end financial statements for annual income tax filings.
  • Prepare audit work papers and assist in managing the annual external audit process.
  • Assist with tenant financial underwriting and tracking current events on tenants to monitor risks and opportunities. 
  • Support the integration of new software investments, such as Yardi Voyager 8 and Commercial Café.
  • Calculate and pay privilege tax on a monthly basis and stay up to date on any changes to local, state and federal tax laws. 
  • Perform property analysis such as tracking vacancy, average rents, WALT, and incentives. 
  • Assist with adhoc analysis. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 3-5 years of accounting/finance experience.
  • Property accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager and Elevate preferred.
  • Proficient in all MS Office Word & Excel and Sage Fixed Asset Software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
