Role Description The Desktop Support Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Santa Fe, NM. This role is responsible for providing hands-on technical support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and related software, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Day-to-day tasks include responding to help desk tickets, diagnosing hardware and software issues, performing system upgrades and patches, and ensuring devices meet security and compliance standards. The technician will support end users in person, by phone, and via remote tools, document resolutions, and escalate complex issues when necessary. The role also involves maintaining asset inventories, collaborating with IT teams on deployments and rollouts, and contributing to continuous improvement of support processes.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong technical support skills, including troubleshooting of Windows and macOS operating systems, desktop hardware, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Candidates should possess foundational networking skills, such as understanding TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi connectivity, and basic router/switch concepts.
- Candidates should possess software support skills, including installing and configuring productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft 365), antivirus solutions, and common business applications.
- Candidates should possess customer service and communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and the ability to explain technical issues in accessible terms.
