What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician Administrator position at Dev Care Solutions?
Flexible Schedule – Hours can be completed on first or second shift. This is an 8 to 40 hour a week position.
- Oversee medical care for residents in developmental centres by planning, coordinating, and directing medical services.
- Establish policies and procedures to comply with standards for Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (psychology, psychiatry, case managers, direct care, nursing staff, family/guardians) to address health and safety issues.
- Make and implement medical recommendations, including ordering medications, diagnostic tests, treatments, and referrals.
- Serve as the primary care physician: conduct physicals, diagnose medical concerns, monitor treatments/medications, write prescriptions/orders, and complete documentation.
- Work closely with Certified Nurse Practitioners at each facility.
- Consult with facility committees (admission/discharge, unusual incidents, infection control, emergency preparedness, medication review, human rights) and external parties (medical providers, DD county boards, legal divisions).
- Direct systems for children with special health care needs and manage related medical policies within the Ohio Department of Health.
- Act as medical director for the bureau of infectious disease control, assisting in disease surveillance, data evaluation, and directing staff activities.
- Administer infectious disease control investigations and supervise medical/support personnel or program administrators.
- Formulate medical policies and direct their implementation on behalf of the agency director.
- Provide direct medical or psychiatric care in complex cases, including comprehensive exams and diagnosis.
- Handle special cases for training and demonstration purposes.
- Coordinate public health issues involving multiple divisions.
- Act as medical supervisor during disease outbreak investigations.
- Assist in maternal and child health services development, including resource allocation and grant proposals.
- Provide medical consultation to programs in child and family health services and establish program policies and standards of care.
- Participate in statewide planning for services to women, infants, and children, providing medical expertise and leadership in public health policy development.

Pay: $109.00 - $126.00 per hour
