Materials and Production Planning Manager

Role Type:

Full time, on-site role based in DAC’s St. Augustine, FL office.

Overall Purpose of the Role: 

• To support the establishment and integration of a new ERP/MRP platform

• To plan and coordinate with 3rd party contract manufacturers to assure production is completed as required to support customer requirements.

• To plan and estimate 3rd party contract manufacturers, resources and production capacity related to DAC’s needs. 

• To ensure that the supply of materials and subcomponents meets the production schedule and minimum defined stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity. 

• To optimize Cost of Goods Sold through structured procurements.

• To continuously improve quality through the Quality Management System

• To coordinate foreign and domestic shipping activities, documentation, and all material movement.


General Requirements:

Able to deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements. Maintains strong relationships both internally and externally to ensure supply of materials meets requirements. Work under limited supervision, reviewed by Management. Decisions and results have an impact on the function and their success. 

Required Experience:

Substantial Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience with at least one platform (Oracle, SAP, Cetec, etc.), preferably including implementation experience.

Material Requirements Planning (MRP) experience in a production or manufacturing capacity.

A history of procurement roles and/or roles interfacing to assembly, manufacturing, or supplier activities would be favorable.  

Key Responsibilities: 

Schedule, monitor, and update production planning with 3rd party contract manufacturers • Schedule and control the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels • Assess material requirements against planning assumptions • Day-to-day order management and management of deliveries • Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedule • Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production • Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement • Utilize the Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) or IT system that is in place and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required • Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy • Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels • Optimize purchasing orders / contracts and manage EOL activities related to supply of parts • Support inventory checks and cyclical counts to validate inventory accuracy • Minimize obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability • Create regular statistical reports and analysis and update others in the organization, including production scheduling for sales forecasts • Optimize supply costs through the utilization of volume contracts • Monitor and report on supplier quality and on time deliveries • Manage all office activities associated with shipping, customs clearance, etc. • Maintain and report on supplier performance metrics including bi-annual Supplier Review for Management Review • Implement, manage, and track Supplier Corrective Actions
