Position Summary: The Detroit Symphony Orchestra is seeking a highly organized and execution-focused Growth Marketing Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of DSO concert marketing campaigns.

Working from strategic direction led by the Director of Growth Marketing, this role serves as a central manager across all planned and active concert campaigns to ensure their success. This includes management of paid media buys, trafficking creative, building and managing email and social lists, daily sales tracking/reporting and data pulls, as well as coordination with the Direct Mail Marketing Manager, Web Manager Public Relations Manager and Tessitura Operations Manager to ensure campaigns are impactful, launched on time and maintained without interruption.

Successful candidates will be proactive self-starters who thrive in a fast-paced environment, have fanatical attention to deadlines and detail, and are comfortable managing multiple projects at once.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize vendor relationships with radio and paid digital partners, serving as the primary point of contact for campaign execution, creative trafficking, scheduling, and delivery.
  • Oversee operational execution of campaigns by translating established strategies into accurately built, launched, and maintained campaigns across channels.
  • Build and maintain email and social lists from strategic segmentation developed by the Director of Growth Marketing and assist with data hygiene and list management to support email and paid social execution.
  • Partner with the Direct Marketing Manager on direct mail scheduling and execution, production timelines, and list readiness to keep production on track.
  • Coordinate event and on-sale setup with the Web Manager and Tessitura Operations Manager to ensure accurate configuration across web and ticketing systems.
  • Manage reporting, circulation, and data pulls to support campaign tracking, performance monitoring, and post-campaign review.
  • Serve as central traffic manager for growth marketing campaigns
  • Maintain campaign documentation and schedules to ensure clarity, organization, and accountability across internal teams and vendors.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years' experience in digital marketing/advertising, communications, business administration, or a related industry.
  • Experience managing marketing campaigns on various channels including paid digital, email, radio, print, out-of-home, etc.
  • Experience with CRM software such as Tessitura, Salesforce, Hubspot, Zoho, Salesforce, etc. Tessitura experience is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of marketing campaign mechanics on different platforms and best practices in each channel. Ex: general understanding of best practices for SEO/SEM, a good handle on Meta Business Suite, an ability to interpret and process social media KPIs, etc.
  • Functional knowledge of copywriting, graphic design, and HTML.
  • Demonstrated high degree of adaptability, including experience adapting strategy and approach based on data.
  • Ability to act independently, take initiative, and meet changing priorities; results and deadline-driven with the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Successful experience working in, and contributing to, a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a PC network environment and experience with Microsoft Office and Windows software.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing or a business-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Interest in the performing arts and/or classical music.
  • Prior experience working within a professional performing arts institution or related industry.

Additional Information:

  • This is a salaried, non-union position.
  • This position is eligible for the DSO’s exceptional benefits package, including $0 cost medical, dental, vision, paid parental leave, 403b retirement account, and great ancillary benefits.
  • Successful candidates must be available to work a varying schedule, including nights and weekends, to meet the needs of the DSO’s performance schedule.
  • All positions at the DSO require the successful completion of a background check prior to beginning employment. A criminal record does not automatically disqualify candidates.
  • Candidates must have reliable transportation and must be able to work on site a minimum two days per week.
