Job Overview:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing simple maintenance tasks as assigned by the Chief Maintenance Engineer to ensure smooth operation at the Detroit Athletic Club.
Key Responsibilities:
• Initially, you will work closely with an HVAC expert and learn how to change the filters of the HVAC units.
• Follow the direction of the Chief Engineer to efficiently complete assigned tasks.
• Maintain assigned tools and equipment in clean working order, notifying the Chief Engineer of any repair needs or malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and equipment history.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines, and ensure all equipment and systems comply with relevant regulations and standards.
• Work closely with other team members, such as engineers, facility managers, and other technicians, to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls and resolve issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Qualifications:
• Some basic knowledge of the use of hand and power tools.
• Some mechanical aptitude.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in some construction or maintenance tasks.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, to receive and follow instructions clearly.
• A dependable and consistent work ethic, meeting the established attendance schedule.
• Ability to complete tasks independently and efficiently during the workday.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.
