What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floor Tech - Overnight position at Detroit Athletic Club?
The Overnight Floor Technician is responsible for the care, maintenance, and restoration of marble, stone, and other hard surface flooring throughout the Clubhouse. Working independently during overnight hours, this role ensures that the club maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation in all guest-facing and back-of-house areas.

Clean, polish, hone, and seal marble and natural stone surfaces using specialized equipment and chemicals.

Perform routine and restorative maintenance on high-end flooring including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, and dining areas.

Strip, wax, and buff other hard surface floors as needed.

Identify wear patterns, stains, or damage and recommend appropriate treatment or repairs.

Follow all safety protocols regarding chemical use, equipment handling, and slip/fall prevention.

Maintain equipment and supply inventory, ensuring tools are clean and in good working order.

Coordinate with overnight staff to align cleaning efforts and priorities.

Communicate floor care needs or issues to Night Ops leadership.

Adhere to the club’s standards of appearance, service, and professionalism at all times.

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Minimum 2 years of experience in marble or stone floor care, preferably in a hospitality or luxury environment.

Familiarity with stone-specific maintenance equipment (e.g., swing machines, diamond pads, floor buffers, etc.).

Ability to work independently and follow detailed procedures.

Physically able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout an 8-hour shift.

Knowledge of safety and handling of cleaning agents and PPE.
