Summary
The Senior Technician supports the build, integration, installation, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment and automation systems. This hands‑on role includes mechanical assembly, electrical integration, testing, troubleshooting, and support for FAT/SAT and production ramp-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble complex mechanical subsystems using engineering drawings.
- Install, align, and verify mechanical components including motion hardware, pneumatics, and fluid systems.
- Support machining, prototype builds, and iterative mechanical changes.
- Build, route, and terminate wiring for panels, sensors, actuators, and industrial components.
- Install PLC‑controlled devices, safety hardware, motion systems, and instrumentation.
- Support system bring-up including I/O checkout and troubleshooting.
- Assist with equipment installation, rigging, anchoring, and facility connections.
- Execute FAT/SAT procedures, record results, and recommend improvements.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation issues.
- Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.
- Maintain build logs, configuration notes, and documentation packages.
- Coordinate with facilities teams, contractors, vendors, and fabricators.
- Train operators, maintenance teams, and junior technicians.
Qualifications
- 5 years in equipment assembly, automation integration, or machine build roles.
- Strong mechanical assembly skills including alignment and precision fitting.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems including sensors, motors, and safety circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Experience supporting commissioning, troubleshooting, and system bring-up.
- Understanding of industrial safety practices including lockout/tagout.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with custom machinery or high‑volume production equipment.
- Basic CAD familiarity for reviewing or redlining prints.
- Knowledge of industrial networking and smart devices.
- Exposure to robotics and motion control systems.
- Experience with Siemens or Allen‑Bradley platforms.
