Role Description The Automotive Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at Destination Kia in Albany, NY. In this position, the technician performs routine vehicle maintenance and inspections, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and brake evaluations. The role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, completing automotive repairs, and ensuring all work meets safety and manufacturer standards. The technician is responsible for documenting services, communicating findings to service advisors, and maintaining a clean, organized work area. Daily tasks also include using diagnostic tools, following repair orders accurately, and contributing to a positive, efficient service department.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair to perform routine services and general mechanical work.
- Candidates should possess skills in Oil Changes and basic service procedures for efficient, high-quality preventive maintenance.
- Candidates should possess skills in Automotive Repair and Suspension work to diagnose and correct more complex mechanical issues.
- Relevant automotive certifications (e.g., ASE), or progress toward certification, are beneficial.
- Previous experience as an automotive technician or in a dealership service environment is preferred.
